LA PERRIMAVERA 2010: UN EXITO TOTAL! La Perrimavera de este año rompió el record de asistencia. Cientos de personas llegaron desde las 11 am con sus perros a compartir esta fiesta con nosotros, muchos de ellos, adoptados de AdoptaUnAmigo. Nos encantó reencontrarnos con Don Juan, Nueve, Kianti, Nali, Perla Negra, Linn, Lorenzo, Divina, Venus, Chapu, Icaro, Emilia, Lola, y muchos más que nos demuestran con sus sonrisas perrunas lo felices que son. Conocimos nuevas caritas perrunas y a mucha gente con quien compartimos nuestro enorme cariño por los animales. Todos unidos para celebrar a nuestros mejores amigos, a nuestros compañeros del alma y a apoyar a los que no han tenido todavía la suerte de encontrar a la familia de su vida. La gente participó en los concursos, compró en las tienditas los artículos más exclusivos y se deleitó con la comida, fruta, dulces y las deliciosas galletas para perro, que volaron en un segundo. Casi 40 perritos estuvieron en los corrales de adopción y chicos y grandes pudieron convivir con ellos; varios de ellos ya están camino a su nuevo hogar. De los 3 gatitos en adopción, sólo 1 ha encontrado hogar, pero sus hermanitos no pierden la esperanza, ya que les llegó información confidencial que pronto se inaugurará un nuevo club de amantes de gatos de AUA para que la gente sepa realmente de qué se están perdiendo al no tener uno entre sus brazos..miauuu La generosa donación de alimento resultó en 326 latas para perro y gato!! y otro tanto de alimento seco. Muchas gracias por participar en esta montaña de ayuda!! Parte del alimento será donado al Refugio Franciscano de Ita Osorno (q.e.p.d). Agradecemos enormemente al Kinder Colegio del Valle por prestarnos su hermoso jardín todos los años. Gracias a Ricardo y May de Grupo DIMSA por donarnos las postales, folletos y volantes. A la Legión 501 de Starwars y a Chewbacca por amenizar el evento y aguantar el calorón abajo de esos trajes. A las maestras de kinder del colegio lidereadas por Paty Rodriguez, que trabajaron semanas antes en la preparación de muchos detalles y actividades. Al pintor Santos por permitirnos promover al xoloscuincle a través de sus bellos cuadros. A los chicos y chicas, niños y niñas del staff por hacer posible el evento. A Emiliano y Claudia por el transporte de los perritos que desfilaron. A los perritos que participaron en el desfile de disfraces y a los que no participaron pero nos apoyaron con su presencia. A todos los asistentes, a los que aman a los perros y a los que aman a los gatos. Esperamos contar con su asistencia para la Perrimavera 2011 y no olviden que el resto del año seguimos trabajando, ¡no se olviden de apoyarnos!. PERRIMAVERA 2010: A BARKING GOOD TIME! This year's Perrimavera broke attendance records. Starting at 11 am, hundreds of people with their dogs, many of whom were adopted from AdoptaUnAmigo, arrived ready to share and ejoy the party with us. We loved seeing Don Juan, Nueve, Kianti, Nali, Perla Negra, Linn, Lorenzo, Divina, Venus, Chapu, Icaro, Emilia, Lola, and many others that demonstrate with their doggy smiles how happy they are now. We met new doggy faces and lots of new people that share our great love for animals. Everyone came together to celebrate our best friends, our life companions, and to support the ones that haven't been lucky enough to find their forever families. People participated in the contests, purchased fun items, and greatly enjoyed the food, fruit, candy and the yummy doggy-cookies (which, btw, vanished in about two seconds). We had close to 40 dogs in the adoption corrals so that kids and adults could play with them and get to know them a little better. Many of them are now on their way to their new homes! We had 3 cats up for adoption, and only one of them was adopted. But his siblings are feeling hopeful because a little bird told them that very soon a sister organization to AdoptaUnAmigo will be inaugurated specially for cat lovers. This way, people can also really find out what they're missing by not having a kitty in their arms.. meowwww! Thank you to everyone that participated in the Mountain of Help: we received 326 cans of dog and cat food as well as a whole lot of dry food. Part of the generous donations will be given to Ita Osorno's (RIP) Refugio Franciscano. We give great thanks to the Colegio del Valle kindergarden for lending us their beautiful garden every year. Thanks to Ricardo and May of Grupo DIMSA for donating the postcards, brochures, and flyers. Thanks to the Star Wars 501 Legion and Chewbacca for making the event really fun and for putting up with the heat under those suits! Thanks to the pre-school teachers, guided by fearless leader, Paty Rodriguez, who worked for weeks in helping prepare event details and kids activities. Thanks to the fantastic men, women, boys and girls of the staff without whom this wouldn't have been possible. Thanks to Emiliano and Claudia for transporting the adoptable doggies that were shown in the parade. Thanks to all the doggies that participated in the costume parade and thanks to the ones that didn't wear a costume but showed up for moral support. Thanks to all the helping staff, to all the dog lovers, and all the cat lovers. We hope to see you again next year for the Perrimavera 2011.
